RATIONALE
The rationale for conservative dentistry is that the conservative restorations have some significant advantages, particularly when there is not much damage to tooth structure. Among these advantages is long-term retention of esthetic acceptability for the tooth restored with a conservative tooth-colored restoration. When a tooth-colored full ceramic crown is placed in the esthetically observable zone of the mouth, the esthetic acceptability of the crown usually is good for only months to years. Eventually, the gingival tissues around the crown begin to shrink and gums recede. The margin joining the tooth-colored crown and the remaining tooth structure is also revealed. The long term overall esthetic results from the conservative dental care point do not prove encouraging.
The availability of advance materials that aim at conservative approach to tooth saving have become an easy reality for dentists listed with India Dental Clinics to the benefit of patients today. Most dentists agree that preservation of tooth structure is a desirable goal. Once enamel is removed, it cannot be replaced with anything as long-lasting. If tooth structure and restorative material can be bonded successfully, the result achieves the goal of preserving tooth structure. Bonding tooth structure, especially enamel, to restorative materials is one of the best options today.
Awareness in conservative dental care India or more vastly in health care India, expectancy levels have increased for all countries like the US, Canada, UK, Europe, Australia, Gulf, Asia, etc., and people are living to older ages than ever before. It is well-known that dental restorations, including full crowns or dental veneers or porcelain laminate veneers as they are called, or even dentures, have a finite life expectancy. At some point in the life of every restoration, replacement is practically inevitable. Why not restore teeth conservatively for a replacement or two before a full crown or veneer is required? Full crowns or veneers always can be placed in the future, before a perceived threat in tooth abscess looms large that may lead to a root canal or even an extraction that may end up a patient opting of a bridge or dental implant.
The diagnostic technology has also made tremendous progress. Many top conservative dental treatment clinics in India have caries-detection devices to indicate the likelihood of the presence of dental caries on occlusal or gingival areas of teeth, thus reducing questions about the location and extent of caries present. Air abrasion techniques, available with water incorporated to reduce airborne debris, allow easy, conservative cutting of teeth. Digital radiography has made caries detection easier and more predictable because of the various enhancing concepts available when using digital radiographic devices. Caries-detection solutions and gels provide the conservative dentist with the ability to determine caries depth and an indication of when to remove suspicious tooth structure, allowing placing dental fillings or inlay/onlay. The use of clinical microscopes in India allows clinicians to observe and analyze dental caries in a manner was never possible in the past. Conservative dentistry has become much easier than ever before.
CONSERVATIVE RESTORATIONS OR FULL CROWN
It would be hard to find a patient who would like more tooth structure removed. The adoption of conservative restorations in India also demonstrates good service longevity. Using models, pictures and intraoral cameras, patients would be happy to note how little tooth structure need to be removed or putting it the other way, how much tooth structure can be preserved when conservative restorations are used instead of larger restorations like crowns. The raging controversy apart, health services in India and of most countries as well as WHO have been satisfied that dental amalgam is a safe, reliable and effective restorative material in relation to its mercury content. It is only at individually conscious level that majority Indian dentists listed with India Dental Clinics also practice mercury free dentistry. Dental care tourists to India are also equally reaping the benefits of affordable quality dental India tour.

Dental restorations are used to restore damaged or decayed teeth. They can frequently save teeth that would otherwise need to be extracted. Restorations include fillings, inlays and onlays, veneers, crowns, implants, bridges, and dentures. Dental restorations can be described as direct and indirect restorations. Some restorations require multiple visits to the dentist (e.g., crowns, bridges). Restorations can be made from a number of different materials, including amalgam, composite resin, ionomers, metal alloys, porcelain and porcelain fused to metal.
